OVERVIEW

  • MAI utilizes various strategies (covered calls, cash secured puts, or option spreads) that look to meet the needs of our investor base. With few exceptions these strategies are defensive in nature and do not involve leverage.
  • MAI offers a series of option overlay investment strategies in a format compatible with most RIAs (SMAs <$1MM).
  • MAI can deliver option strategies customized to each clientʼs unique portfolio – including individual equities, ETFs, and mutual funds.

Seth Shalov

Senior Portfolio Manager, Managing Director

Seth is a Portfolio Manager on the Dividend and Managed Volatility Strategies.  He also serves as MAI’s Option Strategist providing custom option overlay solutions for our client base. He joined BC Investment Partners in 2006 which acquired MAI in 2007. Prior to MAI, Seth was the Managing Partner and Chief Investment Officer for DaVinci Capital and Chief Investment Officer for Bank of Tokyo Trust. He received his BA in Political Science from Rutgers University. Seth is currently a Blue & Gold Officer (BGO) for the U.S. Naval Academy. BGO’s serve as a volunteer field representative interviewing and guiding local prospective Naval Academy candidates.

Erik

Erik Huss

Institutional Business Development Officer, Managing Director

Erik is an Institutional Business Development Officer at MAI, joining the firm in 2013.  He is responsible for business development and distribution of the firm’s proprietary strategies to institutions.  Prior to MAI, Erik was a Product Manager at PNC Investments where he was responsible for the launch of online trading & investing and structured products.  Additionally, he was a Staff Sergeant in the Ohio Air National Guard where he worked in the Accounting Liaison Office. Erik earned his Associates in Applied Science from the Community College of the Air Force, his BA in Economics from Denison University and his MBA from Ashland University.  He is actively involved in his community, serving on St. Augustine’s Associate Board.
